Ryad Laârouss

The road there is beautiful, and the place itself was lovely. The pool was a relief in the heat, nice and cold. Staff were always ready to help. The room cleanliness fell short of what I wanted. Breakfast was basic but enough to get the day going, though the coffee could use some work.

We were very happy with our stay at this beautiful Ryad. It's right by the Medina, and the staff were friendly and attentive, always checking that we were comfortable and well looked after. Breakfast was included. For us, the place worked perfectly for both comfort and downtime, so I wouldn't put much stock in the silly one-star reviews.

We had a nice little terrace by our room and could also use the bigger rooftop terrace, which had an awesome view. The main riad looks good, though most rooms are in a separate building across the street. Both buildings were clean. Our suite had two double beds, but there was no privacy: the shower and bathroom were only about 1.5 meters from the bed, awkward when people keep different schedules. The toilet was right by the bed too, and its door didn't reach the floor, so it was almost like having no door. Breakfast in the reception building was good. There's a small pool there, but it's in the middle of the dining room and hallway, so it felt more decorative than usable.

The staff were friendly, but this stay was nothing special. Our reservation had been mixed up, so on arrival we got a different room from the one we'd booked. The rooms need renovation, and I saw what looked like a cockroach or beetle in the bathroom. I've stayed at another Riad for the same price and had a much better experience there.
