The staff were genuinely excellent, friendly and helpful, and seemed to be doing their best with what they had. The grounds are stunning once you’re past security, with an oasis-like feel, incredible Atlas Mountains views, and a rooftop sunset worth catching. Getting there and being there takes planning. It’s about an hour from Marrakech, down a 1km dirt road, with no shops, cafés, or other options nearby. You’re reliant on the hotel once you arrive. Taxis cost around €80 each way and can be unreliable unless booked through the hotel, which costs more. There’s also a rooster that starts crowing very early, so light sleepers might want earplugs. The rooms feel dated and have little natural light. The “standard” rooms vary a lot: some are very basic and confined, almost cell-like, while others have more opulent decor but a noticeable sewerage smell. Both cost the same, which feels inconsistent. Some basics are missing too, including a fridge and a lamp with no sockets available, and there are few working plug points. There are two outdoor pools, neither heated. The indoor pool costs extra and was unavailable for most of our stay. It only opened on our last day, which was also the one cloudy day. There’s one restaurant with a limited menu. Breakfast is included but fixed and repetitive, with very few choices for dietary needs, especially gluten-free. Food and water are expensive on site. If you want quiet and mountain views and don’t mind isolation, it could suit you. Bring essentials and plenty of snacks, since there’s little flexibility once you’re there.

We had a peaceful, refreshing stay at Taj Atlas Wellness and would happily return. Our room was spacious, elegant, and lovely to unwind in. The food was delicious and beautifully prepared, and we enjoyed choosing between three pools as well as spending time in the spa. From the moment we arrived, the staff were attentive and incredibly friendly, making the whole experience feel calm and welcoming. Highly recommended!

We chose this hotel for its spa and wellness facilities, hoping to relax during our trip to Morocco. On arrival, we found none of the spa facilities working, and the pool described as heated was cold and out of service too. Staff hadn’t told us in advance, and they offered neither compensation nor another option. We lost a full day of our holiday. If the wellness experience is your reason for booking, I suggest looking elsewhere.

The last kilometer of the drive had me a little nervous and even disappointed by the surroundings, but arriving changed everything. Taj Atlas Wellness Spa & Hotel is beautifully designed, with green spaces and peaceful nature all around. My partner and I came for a quiet, relaxing break, and the place exceeded our expectations. We fell in love with its calm, charm, and positive energy. The staff were kind, polite, and caring in every department, from reception onward, and made us feel welcome and valued from the first minute to the last. A lovely escape for couples. 💑🌿✨
