The Little Hara

Ali the chef and the entire team made us feel warmly looked after, and the food was delicious. Our family spent New Year's Eve here in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. The riad is right in the center of Medina, yet it's very quiet inside. The decor combines calm minimalism with a traditional Maroc touch. Definitely one of the best places to stay in Marrakech. I'd recommend it without hesitation.

We loved our bright room on the top floor, especially being able to step out onto the terrace and spend afternoons reading and unwinding. The staff were so attentive, often offering tea and useful tips about places to visit. I could tell they cared about our experience, and that meant a lot to me. Beautiful riad. Thank you!

Quiet evenings were a real plus, since the riad is a little outside the main Souk. Ali and the staff were also incredibly helpful with arranging our ski trip, which was tricky because of the equipment. The entrance is down a derb, a one way alley in the medina, on your left. We were welcomed with warmth and kindness. It's a 5 min walk from the Bab Lassour entrance to the medina; taxis drop you on the road, and for a smal fee a porter can bring your luggage in a wheeled cart. Ali, Mohammed, and all the staff make Little Hara feel like staying with family. Definitely recommend it!

The rooftop breakfast was fresh, tasty, plentiful, and served in a beautiful setting. The location is great, the place is pretty, and the staff are wonderfully nice and helpful. We had a ground floor room facing the inner courtyard, though, so we could hear reception conversations and people walking around at night. We couldn't open the window because people crossing the courtyard would have looked right in at us sleeping, and we didn't want to make the courtyard noise louder. The AC/heating unit was set to 30 °C, and when we changed it to 21 °C it gave off a horrible sewerage smell. Once we worked out where it came from and switched it off, things improved, but the room remained stuffy even with the bathroom ventilator running all night. We were only there one night, it was late, and we were already in bed, so we didn't raise it with staff. To be fair, they might have offered us a different room if we'd asked. Ask for a second floor room and it's probably a lovely place to stay.
