We had some of the best food of our ten days in Morocco here. Dinner was fresh and generous, served under the stars, and the staff were attentive and professional. The hot showers worked perfectly too. Amskou Desert Camp was the highlight of our Sahara tour. It’s set apart from the crowded camps, so it was completely quiet, with just us and the dunes and no noise from other camps. The tents were clean and spacious, with AC and a heater that made them comfortable in both the heat and the cold nights. If you’re after a desert stay with comfort, book Amskou.

Ali and Youssef were warm and welcoming, and the evening music and campfire were a real highlight. I also liked the remote setting, with less noise and disruption from ATVs and passing traffic. The rooms were spacious, the beds comfortable, and dinners were enjoyable, though they got repetitive. Eggplant and chicken tagine seemed to come around constantly, with little variety in the vegetables. Breakfast was disappointing: just one egg each, yogurt served at room temperature or sometimes packaged flan, no fresh fruit, and a lot of fairly average bread. Lunch was also a letdown if you stay at camp instead of taking a tour for €20. The fries were soggy, the tomato and cucumber soft, and most of the grilled chicken was on the bone and not always thoroughly cooked. Sandboarding is available, but you have to carry the board about 1.4 km to reach the dunes, which won’t suit everyone. Bringing some fresh fruit for snacks could help, since adding oranges, apples, or bananas at breakfast and more variety like sautéed vegetables at dinner would make a noticeable difference. The dunes are mind-blowing and worth the adventure. This was my third desert camp, and the stay was fine, just less memorable than the others. Check what the camp does and doesn’t offer.

The rooms were very clean, the food was good, and the staff were super friendly. Transfers there and back were easy, and the camp is right by the dunes. A real jewel in the desert, especially for the price.

The tents were spotless, beautifully decorated, and even had a lovely scent. We were surprised and glad they were heated, which made sleeping in the desert very comfortable. The staff welcomed us warmly as soon as we arrived, and their genuine kindness and attention made us feel at home throughout the stay. Our days had plenty to remember: a camel ride at sunset over gold and crimson dunes, an exhilarating quad bike ride across the desert, and a thrilling 4x4 Jeep tour deeper into the dunes for panoramic views. Evenings were just as special, with traditional music, stories, and delicious food around a campfire under the stars. Amskou Camp felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience, with the team taking care of every detail. We’ll always treasure the memories and can’t wait to return. For an authentic, luxurious Sahara adventure, this is the place.

The meals were a highlight, with lots of delicious dishes served in generous portions. The people serving us were friendly, attentive, and happy to make us feel welcome and cared for. Their hospitality made the stay feel personal. The tents were spacious, carefully decorated, and furnished with great amenities. The air conditioning kept them cool despite the desert heat. This luxury camping stay exceeded all my expectations, and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to enjoy the desert without giving up comfort and luxury!
