Desert Villa Boutique Hotel Merzouga

Our tour company had arranged one night at Desert Villa, and it became an unexpected highlight of the trip. The rooms were spotless and had everything we needed, and the food was easily the best we ate in Morocco. The architecture was breathtaking, especially knowing Youssef designed it with so much care; every detail felt considered and distinctive. Youssef and Mouhamad shared a touching story, and their warmth and generosity as hosts made the stay feel special. We’d gladly recommend Desert Villa to friends and family, and hope to return.

Set on the edge of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga, this lovely boutique hotel gave us a very comfortable stay. Youssef and Mohammed, the brothers who own and run it, were welcoming and helpful. The food was excellent, and having a heated pool in winter was especially nice. It was very good value, and we hope to come back.

The little hotel is well looked after, and our room was spacious with a heat exchanger for heating and cooling. On request, they made us a delicious meat-free supper, and breakfast was a healthy spread that was more than we could eat. The pool has green tiles, but the water was clear and pleasantly warm at the start of February.

We felt at home in the middle of the Sahara, thanks to Youssef and Mohamed’s warmth, kindness and genuine care. The villa felt like a sanctuary, and the welcome made us feel we belonged there. From arrival on, they handled every detail with such care that we didn’t have to lift a finger. The hospitality was extraordinary. Our stay at the desert villa in Merzouga was far more than a vacation, it changed how we felt about the trip. You come for the views and luxury, but leave feeling like family.
