The food was very good, and they took great care with my special dietary needs, so I was able to eat well. The terrace and pool are nice, with a small private car park by the entrance. The hotel sits on top of a little hill, perhaps the only one, on the west side of the desert, with lovely views of Erg Chebbi from the terrace. Rooms were cozy, but not well equipped. I stayed four nights and never got a hot shower in my room, despite being moved between three different rooms. I had to shower in my friend's room every time. The electricity was weak and the lights often went out.

The panorama over the dunes is lovely, and the rooms are spacious and clean. Still, they’re very basic in design and comfort, and the breakfast was plain, with nothing special to mention. Inside and out, the building feels a little run-down, and I didn’t find the atmosphere especially charming. I don’t really understand the hype. It’s perfectly okay as a reasonably priced one-night stop while passing through Merzouga. For a romantic, magical desert stay over several days, I don’t think it’s the right place.

The breakfast was our one real disappointment. It was always cold and never tasted fresh. Otherwise, we had an awesome stay. The hotel is basic, but that’s part of the experience, and the friendly staff make up for it. It’s perfectly located with an incredible view over the dunes, which you can reach on foot straight from the hotel in just 20 minutes. A brilliant place to stay in Merzouga 😁

The desert trip they arranged was only 35 euros and included camels, a night out there with dinner, then breakfast back at the Panorama hotel the next day and a chance to shower. The staff were so friendly and courteous, and it’s a great place to eat and sleep. I’d definitely recommend it.
