Riad El Manantial

Fara and Mohammed made us feel at home in the city. They were so warm and generous with their time and help. We spent two nights here and really enjoyed it. Of all the Riads we stayed in around Morocco, this one looked the most authentic, right in Tetouan's medina. Our room was roomy and very clean.

I wish we'd booked more than two days at Riad El Manatial. The breakfast was amazing and got each day off to a great start, and the staff went out of their way to look after us. They arranged a lovely tour of the medina for the next day, and Hamza was especially helpful, even taking me to the nearest pharmacy. The riad felt like a little haven from the busy medina and city. Our spacious room had a TV, great air conditioning, a nice bathroom, and a comfortable bed. We also had dinner on the roof our first night, with food ordered from a restaurant the staff knew.

The room felt fit for kings and queens, lol, and the details were done with care. The Manantial is a beautiful luxury Riad in the heart of the Old Medina, and for me it's the best spot in the Medina. The service was lovely too. King regards, El Andalusí.

Mohammed met us at the Medina's main entrance, took our bags from the taxi, and walked us the roughly 5 minutes to the hotel, pointing out places along the way. He then spent the afternoon showing us around. The next morning we had a lovely Moroccan breakfast, and we took lots of beautiful photos in the palace and around Tetouan. This is a special place in the middle of the old medina, with just five large guest rooms, each with a private bath. It's a gorgeous old Moroccan palace now run as a bed and breakfast by the owner and his family. They made us feel like part of the family. Fara, the owner's sister, sat with us over traditional Moroccan tea when we arrived, and answered our questions about Tetouan and Moroccan culture. Her nephew Mehedi took over about an hour later and was just as welcoming. We also met the very kind owner.
