The location is handy, right at the Medina entrance, and a taxi can drop you by the alley, so you don't have to carry your bags far. The room was spacious and clean, the beds were comfortable, and it was very quiet. Best sleep we had in all the places we stayed in Moracco, with no dogs or cats fighting and no traffic noise, just a relaxing room in the middle of all the chaos. The room also had good wifi. Hot water was only tepid. Breakfast was okay, mainly breads and jams. We didn't get to try dinner because we were turned down for not ordering it at breakfast, even though it was 11. The rooftop was okay for sitting with a book or watching the sunset, but didn't seem suited to sunbathing or hanging out compared with others I've seen.

The staff were nice, and the terrace was pleasant, but the ground-floor rooms felt dark and damp. The shower could use a curtain, and the food was okay. It seemed quite expensive for a hotel in Morocco.

A beautiful, authentic riad with outstanding service and very nice people working there.

The breakfast was generous and different each day, and a real pleasure to start the morning. Our room was clean, comfortable and kept in immaculate condition. For four days the whole team looked after us with constant attention and genuine kindness. Riad Dar El Calame has authenticity, peace and quality service all together. We had a perfect stay, and I'd gladly come back.

The couple who run this place are lovely, always around to answer questions or help with whatever you need. They even pick you up from the airport at no extra cost, which is a real bonus when you know Marrakech. It's an incredible city. The riad itself is beautiful and peaceful, with just the right lighting, quiet rooms and spotlessly clean spaces. Breakfast is excellent and plentiful.
