Gite Amoudou

The lemon chicken tagine was the standout meal of my three weeks in Morocco, and the welcome from Mahfoud and his family made the stay at Gîte Amoudou just as memorable. I had a fabulous time there. If you're passing through, this is a lovely way to experience warm Moroccan hospitality and really good food.

We felt welcome from the moment we arrived in our 4x4 and camped outside. They greeted us with tea, and we had a wonderful Tajine that evening. Some cars went by overnight and dogs barked in the distance, though it was still a peaceful night. This was the friendliest, most hospitable place we stayed on our trip to Marocco. Thanks for taking such good care of us!

We had such a peaceful night here, under an amazing night sky. There was plenty of space for motorhomes, electricity, clean toilets, and hot showers with strong water pressure. The father kept checking in with a smile to make sure everything was all right. The family gave us a real taste of Moroccan hospitality. They speak french, and the son speaks english too. We spent time over mint tea with him, chatting about the area and local culture. We only stayed one night and wished it could have been longer. We'd happily return to Morocco and stay longer, explore the area, and spend more time with these lovely people.

I stopped here at the start of an 8 day cycling trip around south Morocco. They clearly know how to host cyclists, as this is also a checkpoint for well-known races in the area. The host was top notch, the food was great, and everything was very clean and tidy. Thank you!
