Weekend Boutique Hotel

The breakfast was one of the best I’ve had in a hotel, and the staff at both reception and the restaurant were nice. I stayed two nights in a spacious, clean, cozy, quiet room. Weekend really is a boutique hotel, and the value for money was excellent. If I’m back in Chisinau, I’d stay here again without hesitation.

There was nobody at reception to help, and when staff finally showed up in the morning, they were rude and unprofessional. The room had no soundproofing, so noises from outside and other rooms came through. The toilet was filthy, with visible stains and a strong urine smell. The shower and sink leaked across the floor, and there was mold everywhere. For the price and the claimed four-star rating, this place isn’t worth it. I’d avoid it.

I lasted an hour before finding another hotel. We arrived around midnight to a dark reception area and had to wake the receptionist, who was asleep on a bench. My colleague’s room also had a dirty bathroom and dead bugs on the floor, and they left the next day too. After management replied by accusing us of using the room for escort services, planting dead bugs, or something similar instead of apologizing and addressing the problem, I want to describe what happened. In my room there was a barely alive bug on the nightstand. I checked the bed, covers, and mattress for bed bugs, as anyone should in a hotel, and found dead bugs and eggs along the mattress edges and on the mattress itself. There was also a used condom wrapper between the mattress and bed frame. The bathroom was dirty, water splashed everywhere, the small conditioner and shampoo bottles were half used and old, and the shower and bidet metal parts were rusty. I woke the receptionist again to ask for another room and explain the issues. He just shrugged and said the hotel was fully booked, so I looked for somewhere else and was out within an hour. Dear management, accept the reviews, stop acting like this was some elaborate plot, and do better.

A cozy, elegant hotel with a vintage, luxurious feel. It’s very close to the mall and city center. The breakfast was incredible, with lots of variety. Dinner could be better.
