They tried to charge us 20 euro for a tea packet in the room, even though there was no sign saying it cost anything. A tea packet! It felt like they were scamming us. We were already unhappy with how rude the front desk guy was. My bf and i couldn't believe how much he seemed to dislike his job. The room was dirty and smelled bad, the electronics didn't work, and there was no hot water. The phone was broken too, so my bf had to go downstairs to speak to him. He offered to move us, but the other empty room smelled even worse when housekeeping had been there earlier. Huge disappointment.

The family running Hotel Ideal made my 10 days in Podgorica feel warm and welcoming. They were kind, caring and understanding, helped me get around, and even drove me to a meeting in the center. They spoke english, which made things much easier. Breakfast was great, and people always had a smile. If you want a hotel where you feel like part of the family, this is the place.

In all my travels across over 50 countries, I've never had a worse hotel experience. The staff member was so rude, and the welcome was the worst I've encountered. Truly a huge disappointment, and it felt like a scam.

The beds were great and the rooms clean. For 21 Euros, this was a great place, especially compared with hostels charging 16 Euros without air conditioning. Wish I had found it sooner.
