For most travellers, Hotel New Star is a solid choice if you want good value, comfort, clean rooms, and a central spot in Podgorica. It covers the main things well, especially location and service. Someone after resort luxuries like a pool, spa, or elite club lounge might find a few compromises, but I'd definitely keep it on my shortlist.

I liked the location: a market with fresh local food is nearby, and the center is about 1 km away, an easy walk for me. The lobby and rooms have an elegant design. My room was spacious and cozy, with a small balcony, and the bathroom was clean and warm. The hotel staff were really kind. Breakfast was simple, but fresh, local, and tasty, and the restaurant coffee was really good. 👍

The rooms were okay and the service was good. The location is perfectly central.

The room looks nice, but there's very little provided beyond towels. No drinking water, kettle, mugs, or iron, though you can pay for ironing. A minibar sells 250ml of water for 1.7 Euro. Breakfast only runs until 9am, so I missed it and had to order a paid breakfast to my room.

The food was horrible. Over four nights, I only got one decent soup there. Staff were rude and seemed bothered by guests who didn't speak their language. The rooms were okay, but not up to a 4 star hotel; I could see them being fine for a 3 star place. I would never recommend it to anyone!
