For $60 a night, the attitude was basically take it or leave it. There was a stove but no propane tank, and no curtains at the front, leaving us looking out at a junkyard with an infrared security camera pointed at us outside. There were no mosquito nets or anything to burn, and our baby got bites all over his face. The only positives were hot water and being close to the airport.

A clean but basic room in a nice hotel near the airport, which helps explain the 120000ma price. I think that's the cheapest room. The staff were excellent, and coffee and Wi-Fi were free.

The outside looks nice, but the rooms were dirty and not clean. The bell rings very early every day. The accommodation and food aren't worth the price, and I'd spend a little more to stay at another hotel.

The neighborhood felt popular and safe, and the airport is close. But the apartment was large, freezing cold, very dirty, and got no sunlight, with no heating. The electricity was out all day, Wi-Fi was weak, and breakfast options were very limited. Yesterday's receptionists, a woman and then a man, were nice. Today's receptionist could use more training in etiquette and appearance. The nearby church bell starts ringing early in the morning.

We booked a family suite at the Oceanis Hotel for an overnight stay near the airport, and it was adequate with good value for money. The restaurant has a varied menu at reasonable prices. The rooms were below 16 degrees Celsius in the middle of winter, though, so it felt too drafty before we arrived. Fortunately, there were duvets. The local church bells rang at strange hours overnight, and car horns from traffic in Ivato added to the cacophony. You have to tune the noise out.
