Villa Tonga Soa

We came for 10 nights and wished we could have stayed longer. There are only two rooms, so the place is calm and quiet, and the beach is just a two-minute walk away. It’s away from Nosy Be’s tourist hubs, but a tuktuk gets you around quickly. There’s plenty to do nearby. We went diving, hiked Mont Passot, visited Nosy Sakatia and Nosy Iranja, went to Hell-Ville, and did lots more. Nadia and Bernard made us feel at home. We enjoyed long conversations with them over a glass of wine, and Bernard was a huge help planning our trip to the north of Madagascar, thanks to his regional knowledge and connections. Nadia cooked fresh, delicious meals every day with local ingredients. The staff were kind and helpful too. Everything was clean, the garden was well kept, and the rooms had thoughtful decorations. Mouff was sweet, and we had a lot of fun playing with her. Thank you, Nadia and Bernard, for looking after us so well. We miss you! If you’re heading to Nosy Be, you really should stay at Villa Tonga Soa.

We felt at home with Bernard and Nadia. The villa is quiet and private, with only two rooms, a large pool, and a big library where you can borrow a book. It’s well placed for getting to the cities and Andilana and Sakatia beaches, about 10 minutes away, and has its own beach for sunsets. The rooms were new and clean. Towels and bed linen were changed often and also on request. The owners were available for whatever we needed, from taxis and last-minute meals to very early breakfasts, trip information, and scooter rentals. They know the island well and have good connections. Nadia cooked wonderfully fresh food and adapted meals to our tastes. Honestly, when we ate out, we kept thinking we could have eaten better at Villa Tonga Soa. The rest of the staff were very helpful too. There’s an adorable little dog and cat, but they make sure the animals don’t bother guests who prefer that. Thanks again for such a lovely stay!

With just two rooms, the villa feels like a private place to stay. The couple running it are lovely, and the home-cooked local seafood was exceptional. It’s a nice base for diving, exploring Nosy Be, or hopping between islands. Highly recommended.

We spent six nights at Bernard & Nadja‘s place and loved every minute. It was a quiet spot that felt like home, with friendly staff and a cute dog. We’d happily come back anytime.
