Coconut Lodge

A lovely place with delicious fresh local food. The owner was very helpful and arranged great trips at really good prices.

We had the private bungalow, tucked among palms and greenery, with lizards and hummingbirds just outside and a beautiful Indian Ocean view. The sunsets were breathtaking, and the little beach was quiet. The place was tidy and cleaned every day. Its location gave us privacy while keeping the village within a 30-minute walk, and we could book whatever tours we wanted from Coconut Lodge. In the mornings, you might see sea turtles on the beach. Ditra and his family made the stay feel special with thoughtful gestures and wonderful service. Communication before we arrived was reliable and friendly, and Ditra showed us the natural route into town for shopping. He planned trips to nearby islands and led an informative hike up Komba Mountain. Rosa baked fresh rolls for breakfast, and in the evenings Ditra would think up a menu to surprise us. I had arranged a birthday for my husband, and Ditra was even more excited than I was. He planned a lovely dinner and got a delicious cake, with the greeting written in German. This was the best accommodation of our whole world trip. We could happily have stayed a month, and we’ll definitely return. Unforgettable.

We really enjoyed our time at Coconut Lodge, and even left with mangoes from Ditra’s garden. The meals, prepared by the village restaurant and delivered to the lodge, were varied, tasty and generous. Ditra and his team were very welcoming. He was available, gave us excellent advice, and took us on a village tour and shared meal. We loved chatting with him. Our clean, pleasant bungalow was spacious, with a kitchen, a terrace overlooking the sea and a small beach just below. It was the highlight of our trip, and we’d gladly return and recommend it.

The delicious food was the cherry on top. The bungalows at Sophie and Jean's are lovely and practical, and we had a fantastic stay. I highly recommend this little paradise 🙂
