Macedonian Traditional House Yeti

A welcoming host and beautiful views of the lake made this a peaceful place to stay. There are two good nearby restaurants serving inexpensive local food, so cooking isn’t necessary. The rooms are clean and there’s enough space for hikers, with a shared bathroom and kitchen. The furniture is a bit worn, if I had to mention a downside.

The bathroom was a real mess, with water leaking everywhere and leaving the whole place wet. The road to the house is also rough, so watch where you drive, especially at night. Still, we really enjoyed staying here. The house and our bedroom were clean, and there was enough room for our group. The kitchen isn’t very big, but it has what you need to cook; it would be too small for more than two groups, though it works well for one. We also had a nice view from the window. The owner was lovely, always happy to chat, and told us about the country and what’s going on there. There’s an abandoned church by the river about five minutes away on foot, or two minutes by car. For the price, I’d highly recommend this place if you’re in the area.

Avoid this place. I’ve never stayed somewhere so foul-smelling. It was dirty, the fridge stank, the bedding was dirty, and there were insects and mosquitoes everywhere. There were no curtains to keep the morning light out, the sockets were broken, and the internet didn’t work. The windows wouldn’t open, and one was taped shut at the hinge. There was no balcony, despite the description, and the reality didn’t match it at all. I found the hostess greedy. When I left, I saw her daughter putting the same sheets I’d slept on back on the bed for the next guests.

A cosy apartment with lovely lake views. The owners were friendly and made the place feel familiar. The beds and mattresses were really comfortable and soft, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Totally recommended!
