Astera Apart Hotel

My first room smelled bad and was extremely dirty. After I called and managed to reach someone, they moved me, but the second room had no climate control. I could either sleep sweating in sauna-like heat or open the windows and freeze. There wasn't much information at the hotel. I was handed keys without being told the check-in or check-out times or how to contact reception. Breakfast wasn't included.

The management was friendly and really helpful. My room was spacious and clean, and the hotel is under five minutes from the railway and bus stations. I'd stay here again next time I'm in Skopje.

The room was spacious, clean, and lovely, and breakfast was great. When a lot of guests arrive together, some things can run out quickly, but staff work hard to replenish the cutlery, bread, coffee, and other items. The air conditioning stopped late at night. We didn't want to call reception, so we slept with the window open. It seems the filter grille at the bottom had come loose, and pushing it back in should have got the unit working again.

We had a really enjoyable stay and thought it was great value. The room was lovely, very clean, and had a comfortable bed. WiFi worked great, and reception were friendly and helpful. It's about a 10-minute walk to the city center, with a big shopping mall across the street. There are lots of public parking spaces nearby, though we used the private parking for 5 Eur/day. I'd recommend it.
