Hotel DOA

We had the best breakfast of our whole Balkan trip. Macedonians know good food. Just be aware the hotel is beside a mosque, and the 4 am call to prayer may wake you. It sounded as if it were in my room, singing right in my ear. Maybe people are used to it, but it shocked me and really disturbed my sleep.

The sheets were dirty, with bits of food on them, and the shower barely worked because the water pressure was so weak. We arrived late at night and had to use it, which was a disaster. We came with a tour agency and were very disappointed. The staff weren't helpful. Don't come here!!!

The WiFi coverage is good. The staff were kind and professional, and the hotel was good enough, though it definitely isn't up to a four-star standard.

The receptionist was really kind and cleaned the bathroom, so he deserves five stars. The hotel itself, despite being right beside the bazaar, had little else to recommend it. The breakfast wasn't at all four-star quality, it was wilted, dry and poor. Our first room was so dirty that we returned it and asked for another. The second wasn't any better: the bathroom and carpet were dirty, the curtains were torn, and the mattress was so bad I could feel the springs in my back.
