I was nervous after reading some reviews, but Old Alisa turned out fine and good value for the money. The room was better than I expected. Staying in the Old Bazaar after the crowds leave at night was something I loved, though I can see it won’t suit everyone.

*March 31, 2025* We checked availability and agreed on a price, and the hotel confirmed the arrangements. But when we arrived with our suitcases, they quoted us more than we had settled on. We pointed out the difference and were told, “There’s nothing we can do.” We were left stranded with our luggage. Such a disappointment. NEVER TRUST THIS HOTEL AND SET OFF! NEVER TRUST THEM!

The rooms don’t look like the pictures, the beds are uncomfortable, and the bathroom sink is tiny. Only come here if you can’t find another hotel. Otherwise, avoid it.

We arrived late after our flight was delayed, but the staff were there to greet us and even moved us to a bigger room. Everything was clean and well equipped. The hotel sits right in the middle of the old bazaar, which is an amazing location. The reviews here seem quite outdated. I had a great weekend stay and highly recommend it.

The tricky part was finding the place. Go to ARKA HOTEL parking, and the security staff will show you where to park. Parking is free, and a dog costs 10 euros per night. The hotel is very close to the centre of Skopja and just seconds from the old bazaar. Amazing, and we’ll definitely come back.
