Breakfast was the biggest letdown, with very few choices and nothing like what I’d expect from a five-star hotel. The room wasn’t impressive either, and had several worn parts despite the hotel being relatively new. The hotel itself is okay, but it doesn’t live up to its five-star rating.

They arranged a day trip to Pristina for us the evening before, which was really great. Still, I can only give the stay three stars because the fridge didn’t work, and the bed had just one sheet, with no proper duvet. After the first night I specifically asked the front desk to have housekeeping add another sheet, but they didn’t. I wouldn’t expect that at a five-star hotel. Truly disappointing.

The breakfast was awful: the meat was moldy, the cheese dry and the bread hard, even though breakfast had only been open for an hour and was supposed to run for another two. Staff were restocking a pizza, which had a sign saying it was part of breakfast, but when I asked for a slice they said it was staff-only canteen food. So guests got the moldy meat, dry cheese and hard bread while staff had freshly cooked pizza. Dogs weren’t allowed at breakfast, even though the room was empty, so one of us had to stay behind with my dog. The view from our room was terrible too. The room was freezing because the heater would switch to cold every two hours and never warm up again. We’d already had to change rooms because the first one had visible hairs and stains on the bed covers, blankets and pillows, plus hair in the sink and shower and uncleaned stains on the toilet seat. They said no other room was available, so we were sent to a corner room, where two beds had hairs and the toilet seat and carpet were stained. We left to let them clean it; they did, but then the heater didn’t work. This place is horrible and at most a three-star hotel. They also charge extra for pets. I’d never recommend it.

The restaurant, coffee shop and concierge staff were reasonably friendly and helpful. The front desk, though, was unbelievably rude and seemed badly managed. This hotel presents itself as a high-end five-star place, but its front desk staff need much more training to meet international standards. I wouldn’t stay there again. I stayed in a suite from October 5 to 8. When we checked out, we had paid all charges and were getting into our taxi when a front desk supervisor chased us down, accusing us of taking minibar snacks without paying. Housekeeping had failed to restock them, and they were already missing when we checked in. It was their mistake, but the accusation was humiliating and embarrassing, and nobody apologized. At check-in, just after 1 a.m. following a long trip, we were tired and eager to get to our room. The front desk abruptly told us there was no booking under our name and that we should find another hotel. After about 15 confusing minutes, we pulled up our emails and booking confirmation on our phones. Only then did the agent find our reservation and give us a room. Again, there was no apology for the mistake or the embarrassment.
