Pelister Bed and Breakfast

Finding food that’s safe when you need gluten-free options can be difficult, especially in eastern Europe. I found this restaurant recommended online, and it lived up to that recommendation. The risotto was very good and safe for us, and the other meals tasted great too. I liked the more upscale setting. Our waiter wasn’t as attentive or helpful as staff at some other places we tried in Skopje, but I’d still recommend eating here, whether you need gluten-free food or just want a meal. I also appreciated that they label dishes with different allergens and try to accommodate people with those needs.

There’s a lot to choose from on the menu, the food comes quickly, and everything is tasty and inexpensive. The waiters don’t always keep up, but the rest was excellent. Highly recommend.

The pizza, salmon, and tapas were all excellent. Service was the letdown: after bringing our food, they didn’t check on us and only cleared the dishes quietly and quickly. Getting the bill took far too long, and in the end I had to get the waiter’s attention so we could pay.

The location and atmosphere were the best parts. It was a busy afternoon, so they forgot the candle for our birthday dessert, but that was okay. The coffee was good, while the desserts were just okay. The food could be better, though they make fresh pasta and the salads looked great. I’d give it 4/5 overall.
