The breakfast was tasty, and I slept well on a comfortable bed with the AC running and electricity available around the clock. I only booked Golden Princess Hotel because I wanted somewhere clean before going to Chaung Thar Beach, so I didn’t expect it to become a trip highlight. It’s not an international five-star chain, but in Pathein it felt like a real find. The place is comfortable and clean, and the people running it seem to care about guests. I’d stay again and recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

Set outside town in the Mya Kyun Tha housing estate, this hotel is away from the city’s various forms of pollution. The facilities are new and clean, the WiFi is very strong, and breakfast is delicious. It has a nice Bangalore-style feel, with good amenities and decent staff.

Super clean, with service that’s great. It feels like a four-star place for a two-star price.

KTV and massage are available here. Seems like a place more suited to adults.
