Hpa An hotel rooms cost more than in other Myanmar cities, starting at 100k for a twin room for two. This hotel is very well located, with downtown just a few minutes away and easy access for getting around. Breakfast has plenty of choices and the food is good. You can easily get a thonebane to wherever you want to go. 🤍

I stayed four nights and wouldn’t recommend it. The rooms are too small for the local price, cleanliness is poor, breakfast is bad, and the staff are unfriendly and dishonest. They tried to add an undocumented 5% charge, first telling me it was the bank surcharge for using my debit card. When I complained that this was illegal, the manager said it was government tax, though there was no tax stamp or description of the amount. I won’t return.

The lobby gets very warm because there’s no air-conditioning. I found ants in the room, there wasn’t a towel to wipe my feet outside the toilet, and the Wi-Fi signal was very poor. The price feels a little high for these facilities.

One of the nicer places in Hpa-an. The hotel is beside a beautiful large lake and close to the night market, a well-known area. The building is the newest this year, and the room price is fair. Service has been so-so so far. There’s plenty of parking, and the 24-hour security made me feel safe.

We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights, and I’d give it 5 stars. The room rate was reasonable, around 35 USD. Breakfast was good, not bad, and I think you can eat it. The night market is a two-minute walk away, with local, Thai, and Karen food for dinner. You can rent a motorbike at the hotel. It’s near town, but a little far from the places you’d want to visit.
