Golden Rose Guest House

They were able to check us in at 6 AM, which was better than anywhere we’d stayed, especially in the heat here. My girlfriend and I both loved the place. It was very clean, the rooms were spacious and fresh, and they cleaned them every day. The staff were really friendly, and there was free water all the time, which matters a lot. Breakfast was huge, tasty, and even interesting haha. The price was reasonable, and the location was very good. We’d definitely come back.

The rooms were clean, comfortable, and really nice, and the location worked well. Breakfast on the rooftop was AMAZING. The staff were so kind and helpful, and Joe, the manager, was great to chat with. They even made me mohynga (sorry for misspelling) after I asked where I could try it.

A quiet place with easy access to the temples. After a day out, the hot shower was fantastic, and having plenty of bottled water, tea, and coffee was a big plus. It’s a family-run guest house, and the staff were very helpful with bus bookings and e-bike rentals. Great value for money.

The owners and their son were friendly and happy to help with itinerary advice, and they can book bus tickets too. I also appreciated being able to help myself to coffee and water all day. The rooftop breakfast was a highlight. I’d choose the rice option for a taste of local food. My room was spacious, and I was glad they had it ready for an early check-in since I’d told them I’d arrive early. WiFi was okay, though the signal dropped in some areas and varied by time. That seems common across Myanmar, and I could see they were trying by placing routers in useful spots. A few things could be better: rooftop food service in the evening, or on rainy days, would be handy beyond breakfast. Having their own eBike would also be nice. The TV channel selection could use a few additions, though having a TV at all is a plus for a guest house.
