Sann Shwin Hotel

The outside looks a little dated, but inside the hotel felt almost new. Finding a place in Lashio that accepts foreigners was tough. I tried nearly ten hotels, and most said they were full or required a Myanmar ID card before I got here. I paid 80,000 MMK for one night as a foreigner. The listed Burmese rate was 70,000 MMK. For the facilities, that seemed close to the cheapest price around, especially for foreigners. The room was quiet and nice, with working, quiet AC. The towels and blanket were clean, the pillow smelled good, and there was a fridge stocked with drinks and snacks. Breakfast is included on the 5th floor. The receptionist was really helpful and spoke Burmese, Chinese, and English. Check-in was quick, just show your passport and visa. The hotel is right by a market and 6 km from Lashio airport. I’d stay here again if I return to Lashio.

For a quick stay when you're in a rush, it’s a decent option. There’s a night market right outside, and a nice cafe shop is nearby.

The room and service were great. Parking the car was the one problem.
