The room was great, and the view was even better. What really stood out, though, was how thoughtful everyone was. The chef made sure we enjoyed our meal, added a few complimentary dishes, and even had someone go find avocado after we asked for it and there wasn't any in the kitchen. We'd already left and were walking toward the train station when the bell boy caught up with us on his scooter. The chef had sent along a gift, a tea leaf salad, because we'd mentioned it was our favorite thing we'd tried in Myanmar. The whole staff looked after us so warmly. It was the best hospitality I've had in Myanmar, which says a lot given how nice people have been everywhere.

I was surprised by how nice this hotel was. The bathroom has had a lot of upgrades, though it could still use a shower curtain. One small warning, the lobby restrooms smell of mothballs if that's something you dislike. The guest rooms and upper floors were fine.

The rooms have great facilities, with beautiful real wood furniture and a design that gives the place a real Shan feel. It brings in local ethnic traditions, and the staff are genuinely nice. The service was excellent.

If you'd rather stay in town, this is a good hotel right in central Hsipaw. People looking for a green resort have other choices, but this works well for a town stay.
