Thanakha Inle Hotel

We were sorry to say goodbye, and I'm already missing this place. I really hope to come back someday. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming, and the owner was incredibly kind, attentive and pleasant. Everyone seemed to put real care into helping guests. The rooms are large and spotless, with beautiful furniture and interiors that looked brand new. The whole property is stylish and cosy, and the decor feels thoughtfully chosen, as if the place was made with love. After just a couple of hours, it felt less like being a guest and more like staying with old friends.

The team can help arrange a rental car, bus transport, a boat for the day, and food recommendations. They're kind, helpful and know a lot about what to do in Inle. The hotel is about a 14-minute walk from the local market, and offers bicycles and motorcycles for rent. Many of the clean, beautiful rooms have verandas looking out over either the garden or canal. Continental breakfast comes with delicious bread made by a wonderful chef trained in France. I'm so pleased with my stay and will recommend Thanakha Inle to my friends.

A wonderful place to unwind. The location, service, food and quality were all magnificent, and the hosts and staff were fantastic. Just ask them to arrange tour visits and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere.

The garden and riverside spaces are a big part of what makes Thanakha Inle Hotel special. There’s a restaurant on a lovely terrace by the river, plus a small private pier, and two rooftop areas that can host weddings or company events. Upstairs, there’s also a large entertainment room for films, board games, and music. The rooms are spacious and beautifully made, with care put into the details. The shared areas are just as impressive, and the garden is kept in wonderful shape. Food was great too, with many ingredients made in-house. The service really stood out. Everyone seemed passionate about the hotel and its guests. I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels, good and bad, and this is among the nicest. Hervé and his Burmese wife created a lovely retreat for people who appreciate nature and quality. They built it from scratch in 2014. The coup has unfortunately left them with few guests at the moment, but I hope the place shines again when things become more stable.
