We booked the cheapest double room, though Agoda listed it with a shower and bathtub. When we asked, they upgraded us to a superior room with everything, at no extra charge. The bed was soft and the staff friendly, and we had a very good stay. It isn't exactly budget priced, especially if you're traveling alone. The breakfast buffet has plenty if you get there early, but the food was just okay.

The rooms are spacious and have good AC, and the location is downtown, like Royal Guest House. Rates are around 25$ per night, a bit above Royal Guest House, so this isn't a good fit for low-budget travelers. For an FIT traveler, it's a good hotel.

I found the rooms comfortable, with good lighting throughout, from the lobby to the rooms. It's a new 3 star hotel in a quiet neighborhood, though the location isn't very central. The palace is within walking distance, and at USD16 for long termers staying 6 months, it seemed worth staying at while it was new. The friendly bell boy is learning Mandarin at a local language school.

The hotel was very clean, reasonably priced, and had a decent breakfast. There are a few things to keep in mind, though. The new part is next door to a mosque, so the morning call to prayer will wake you at dawn. Many nearby restaurants are halal, which means their menus don't have alcohol or pork items.

For $18, the single room gives you an adequate place to sleep, though the bed is hard. The food was inedible, and the staff seemed keen for guests to leave sooner rather than later.
