I prefer the nice room here to the one at the other hotel where I stayed. I first checked this hotel when I was here in Jun, then booked a good rate for a mid-term stay from mid-Oct through Dec. When I arrived, everything was fine. Even though I'd booked a double, they let me choose a twin bed or a double, and I went with twin sharing because I was concerned about space. Breakfast is good, with authentic Burmese dishes. I was told one of the chefs has won an award. The young staff are keen to help and learn English, which makes up for their inexperience in the industry. The Managing Director even offered me either fruit or one free laundry item. I chose the complimentary fruit each evening, and I plan to return once I get a longer-term visa.

The polite, helpful staff can arrange things like bus tickets and cars, and recommend nearby restaurants, from famous chicken rice to The Window. The rooms are excellent and clean, with great beds, a flat-screen TV, hot and cold water, a fridge, free water and coffee, and an electric kettle. The baths are large and have hot water. Breakfast is a great free buffet with a wide choice of Burmese food, desserts, coffee, and fruit juice.

The hotel is very clean and centrally located, and breakfast was one of the better spreads we've had in Southeast Asia. Bikes are available to check out, but they're a bit run-down, so use them at your own risk.

The room was tiny and had mold, and the mattress smelled of urine. If you're over 6 f tall, you won't fit in the bathroom. I wouldn't recommend it. There are plenty of much better hotels nearby for just a few extra bucks.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were really nice. Still, I wouldn’t call it a tourist-friendly hotel. They speak very little English and couldn’t offer information about sightseeing, tours, or getting around.
