When we arrived, there was rubbish outside our room and the staff service was poor. The room was the worst part: small bugs were on the sheets and bed, the bathroom was awful, and I couldn’t flush the toilet. They didn’t even provide a toothbrush. The hotel had neither Wi-Fi nor a generator. Aung Mingalar Hotel was the biggest nightmare of my 36 years. What a pity, the worst experience of my life.

I stayed three nights and never once got a hot shower. The breakfast was very poor, and the Wi-Fi only worked at reception, not in the room. Even there, when I tried to use it, they turned off the AC and lights despite it being only 10pm. Very poor service. My only positive impression was that the woman on reception duty was beautiful, though she smiled very little.

The breakfast was enjoyable, with good Myanmar food. The rooms were okay, but neither especially nice nor very clean. The receptionist wasn’t unfriendly, but didn’t make us feel particularly welcome either. For what you get, the price is on the high side.

The bathroom was decent, though its glass wall separating it from the rest of the room was an interesting choice. The room itself was small, with a tiny television and no Wi-Fi. Staff weren’t very helpful, but it was a busy holiday, so I’d give them some slack.

It’s a very basic hotel, but close to Bagan’s lively restaurants. Staff are helpful. The rooms and bathrooms could use an upgrade, and the breakfast selection was just okay.
