The owner was friendly, and it’s right in town, with a guesthouse front area for socializing. But the dorm setup was basic, with a simple bed and mattress and just one shared toilet. Breakfast only started after 7am, even though sunrise in Bagan is at 6:30am, so it should have been available earlier. I checked in on New Year's Eve and paid 35 USD for a 16-bed dorm. That hurt, though town was crowded and fully booked, so I had no choice. I wouldn’t return unless I had no other option.

The common room was dirty and didn’t have many power outlets, and breakfast was barely passable. It may be one of the cheapest hostels in Bagan, but you can find better ones at the same price.

The owner was very helpful, and the e-bike was quite good, though 8k felt expensive for it. My bed was okay overall, but the sheets seemed not to have been changed since the previous guest and were quite dirty.

I had a great stay, but the quirky guy who helps out here caused a couple of problems. I don’t think he meant any harm. He woke me in the middle of the night to ask whether the bed next to me was free, as if I worked there. Still, I drew the line when he rummaged through my friend’s belongings. It seemed more like restlessness and compulsive behavior than malice, but it wasn’t okay.

This may be the cheapest dorm option in Bagan, so it could work if saving kyats is the priority. Just be prepared for a good chance of very low bathroom water pressure and mosquitoes, and you may have to go without hot showers during your stay.
