The view was amazing, and the hotel is well placed near the temples. Breakfast was good on the rooftop, with a nice view of nearby temples, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I liked having a balcony, even though it didn’t look out over the temples. The mattress was shorter than the bed frame, and the sockets were too loose to work with a European adaptor. The bathroom could have been cleaner.

The room rate, including breakfast, was very reasonable, making this a solid choice for a stay in Bagan. The rooftop dining area has great sunrise and sunset views. On my first morning, hot air balloons passed right overhead, and I had a great vantage point. Maybe I was lucky that day, but there was no need to go to a viewing point.

The terrace is a lovely spot for breakfast, with great views, and there are several very nice places nearby for lunch or dinner since the hotel itself has no restaurant. Staff were polite and accommodating, and early or late check-in is possible for a fee if there’s availability. Most rooms have balconies and plenty of space. Rooms on the left side look out toward an area with a few temples.

The temple view isn’t a reason to stay here when Bagan has more than 2,200 temples and plenty of hotels with similar views. I’d choose somewhere else. I can’t understand the good reviews. My stay was disgusting. There were hairs in two breakfast dishes, and the coffee cup still had red lipstick marks on it. In the room, cockroaches were around, the bathroom smelled of fungi, and the toilet leaked noisily all night.

The rooftop was a perfect place to watch the sunset, and breakfast was simple but consistently good. My room was clean and comfortable. The staff were so friendly and helpful, arranging taxis for day trips and booking my bus back to Mandalay. Thanks, Hotel Temple View, for such a great stay!
