The place was nice and comfortable, and affordable too. My best friend and I paid 60,000 MMK for the two of us. The service and breakfast buffet could be better, but if you're after a comfy place at a reasonable price, give it a try.

I've stayed here several times on business and would come back on my next visit. It feels safe enough that I can return alone without worrying. The hotel is old, but the staff are friendly and nice. It's tucked down a small alley in a residential area, away from the main places of interest. There's a school at the end of the street, where you can join in local activities. From the top-floor restaurant, you can have breakfast with the early sunrise and a view of the river, with all its busy activity. At the far end, there's a beautiful Pagoda temple beside the port cranes.

The room hygiene was poor, and there were too many mosquitoes. Dogs barked every night, and loudspeakers carried on until late. When there were too few guests, the hotel didn't serve breakfast because it said it would lose money on it. Too noisy.

I stayed for four days and really enjoyed it. The room had a river view, and the food was great. I also liked the service and hospitality, and Botathaung pagoda is close by.
