We spent most of our tour sitting in the UAZ van, with hardly any hikes or time interacting with locals. The tours cost way too much. You'd be better off taking local buses, booking activities when you arrive, and negotiating with locals.

The far north visit to the Tsaatan was the highlight for me. The countryside was beautiful, and getting there meant a four-hour horse trek. I took a solo tour with Camel Track through Northern and Central Mongolia to visit the nomadic Tsaatan Reindeer Herders, and it could not have gone better. My guide and driver worked really well together. They were kind, respectful, and fun, and were keen to show me Mongolia and explain the culture. I learned a lot, including some of the language, and they were happy to answer all my questions. Zaya, the manager, was lovely and very helpful, and put a lot of effort into making the tour so good. I don't think you'll regret booking with Camel Track.

I had to stay at the guesthouse for more than 10 days because of problems with my Chinese visa. It was comfortable, safe, and clean throughout. The tours were amazing, too. Everyone I met there was very satisfied with the tours they offered. Check their reviews on Booking or Tripadvisor!
