The room was very nice, and the staff were friendly, but booking an executive room felt like a waste of time. We reserved an executive club room for three nights through the Accor website as Accor members, expecting the exclusive lounge and free evening canapés and cocktails from 6 to 8 pm. We arrived around 1 pm but couldn’t get into our room until about 2.30 pm. The executive lounge has been closed for some time, though the website didn’t mention it. Instead, guests are sent to the 6th floor, where anyone at the hotel can go. They seat you in a section that’s just an extension of the regular restaurant, so there’s nothing exclusive. The set menu has four items, with a choice of Western or Asian. For the full buffet, it’s an extra 100 mop per person. We chose Western, where the listed main course was fried rice. All four items came at once and were lukewarm. The casino was closed, and the swimming pool was empty while we were there. Taxis are hard to get, so book ahead. Their airport transport is very expensive. The hotel is somewhat isolated, away from Macau’s main areas. It seems to be in decline, and I’d look elsewhere for an upmarket club room experience.

The location made it convenient to explore Macau, and we’d gladly stay here again. From January 26 to 29, we had a spacious, clean, comfortable room with a beautiful view. Sofitel Macau pairs French elegance with warm hospitality. Staff were friendly, attentive, and ready to help throughout our stay. Breakfast had a good range of quality options, and service standards were excellent. We really enjoyed the visit.

The Executive Lounge was a lovely place to unwind, have refreshments, or spend some quiet time. Most of all, the staff made the stay stand out: everyone was professional, attentive, and genuinely warm from check-in through checkout. The location is fantastic, close to major attractions and convenient for exploring the city. Our room was spacious, beautifully designed, and very comfortable, with everything well maintained and thoughtfully prepared.

After getting a little lost in Macau, lunch at Sofitel Mistral was a welcome treat. The spread had a good selection of favorites, from soups and salads to appetizers, mains and desserts. Luisa greeted us at the door, which made us feel we were in good hands. Michelle, Mae, Romeo and the other staff were attentive and made sure we enjoyed the visit. Highly recommended!

The rooms and interiors feel outdated and clearly need renovation and modernization to meet current expectations. Even so, service was good, with friendly, professional and helpful staff. We enjoyed the spa and the restaurant on the 18th floor, where the food was tasty and dining was a nice experience. There’s also a convenient buffet for guests who miss breakfast, for around 200 MOP per person. The hotel’s “go green” policy is another concern. Bottled water has been taken out of rooms in the name of sustainability, but there are no refill stations or dispensers in the corridors. Since bottled water is still sold at the hotel, the policy feels more like an extra revenue stream than a sustainable measure. The hotel has some good amenities and strong service, but the rooms and facilities need refurbishment, and the water policy could be more guest-friendly.
