Apartment Two Weeks Right of Use at Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Golden Sands

The food was on another level. Every dish we tried, from the restaurants or room service, was delicious. The rooms and beds were really comfortable, and everything was very clean. Henri made us feel so welcome. He’s the loveliest person I’ve met in customer service, with loads of charisma. All the staff were attentive, helpful and smiling. The pool area has an amazing view, and the beach is just a few steps down, with a private section for guests. Highly recommended if you want a few relaxing days with your family.

There are some good points here: reception and the shared areas are nicely kept, breakfast has a wide choice, sea-view rooms look out over lovely views, and most of the staff are friendly. A few people did seem flustered and overworked. But the upkeep elsewhere falls short of what I’d expect from a 5-star hotel. The rooms and corridors need refurbishment, with scuffs, old paint repairs and stained carpets. Our balcony light was full of dead flies and the bulb was nearly out. The hotel is a maze at first, and it took us ages to find the spa and pool. Housekeeping was hit and miss: some days we got the right number of towels, other days we didn’t; one day the bin wasn’t emptied and the cups and glasses weren’t replaced, though the bed was made. The spa and pool changing rooms also felt tired and neglected, with water on the floor, showers that clearly weren’t cleaned regularly, missing locker fittings and missing hooks in the shower cubicles. The pool itself was generally clean. Breakfast was chaotic. We kept having to ask for things that should have been there, or picked up by staff. I lost count of how often a place setting had no spoon. Coffee machines were allowed to run out of beans too. It wasn’t a huge issue by itself, but even in low season the restaurant seemed badly managed. From the afternoon on, the spa and pool area seemed to have no staff around. The hourly cleaning sheet in the men’s changing room hadn’t been signed since 1pm when I used it around 9pm. Sometimes the dirty towel trolley was full and there were no clean towels. That level of service made me question paying for treatments. The bedding and pillows also felt very old: the mattress was too soft and sagging, and the pillows had no support. I can’t recommend this place and don’t expect we’ll return. It didn’t deliver the experience I expected from a hotel of this calibre.

We were welcomed warmly on arrival, and check-in went smoothly. The staff member who helped us was friendly, informative and very helpful; we were even offered a drink while waiting, a thoughtful touch. Clear directions and good signage made it easy to find our room. The food was excellent, with plenty of choice, and the waiters looked after us well. After dinner we spent some time at the bar next to the restaurant, where the service and atmosphere were pleasant too. The staff’s kindness and professionalism stood out, as did how clean the whole hotel was, including the public areas and restrooms. Our short stay was marvellous and comfortable. I recommend this Hotel since it offers a lot.

We loved the location and its private beach, and had a lovely stay. Corto and the kids’ club animation team were fantastic with our children, making them feel happy and welcome. Henri Diacono greeted us with a smile at breakfast every morning and spoke several languages, which helped us feel comfortable and well looked after. The indoor heated pool was excellent for April. The outdoor one was quite cold for swimming at that time of year, so my only small suggestion is to heat it too. We’ll definitely come back. Grazie mille!
