Il Palazzin Hotel

The location was handy, close to the sea and surrounded by restaurants and souvenir shops. We spent four nights in this large, busy hotel. Our fourth-floor room had an awkward layout and three single beds, which we had to move to sleep together 😐. The bathroom was very small, with barely any room for personal items. Breakfast came as a buffet with a good range of food, though there was only one kind of tea. The staff seemed a little rushed and cleared our plates too quickly 😊.

The staff, from the manager to the cleaners, tried to make up for the shortcomings through their service, and for that they deserve 10 stars. Special thanks to Rona at the bar, she really makes your day and is the best. The hotel feels more like a nice 3-star place than a 4-star one. It needs renovating from top to bottom, and the screen renovation makes it look like 1980. Breakfast was very poor, limited and the same each day. Over six days I ate breakfast only three times. If you aren't part of a group, it's impossible to have lunch or dinner in the hotel restaurant. Even the pool needs renovation.

This was our third time here, and we’ll definitely return. The breakfast buffet had plenty of varied options. Our room stayed spotless all week, with fresh bedding every day. The housekeeping and dining room staff were fantastic.

The pool was great and the breakfast was OK. Our room was always clean, and the staff were kind and very friendly. They were ready to help with any problem we might have. I’d choose this hotel again if I come back to Malta.
