Hostel 94

We had a twin room, and although the small balcony was nice, there was broken glass in some of the windows. The floor tiles moved up and down, which I thought could be dangerous. The shower had poor water pressure and a tiny showerhead. There was also a coin meter for the AC, so the owner said using it would cost extra, despite the listing offering a twin room with AC. The daily room service took the rubbish, but also removed a bottle of water from the table that wasn't rubbish and that we were still using. After that, I felt uneasy about leaving anything in the room. Downstairs, the kitchen was dirty, with worn-out pans and other items that needed replacing. The fridge was both filthy and smelled terrible. There was a Hostelworld rating of 8.4 posted in the downstairs hallway, though when I checked, the current rating was 5.4. The location is very nice, but I wouldn't recommend the accommodation. I'd rather pay a bit more to stay somewhere else.

This is a really low-quality hostel. The kitchen has a fridge and stove, but the pots and pans are battered from use. The luggage lockers in the rooms won't close, and the air conditioning was broken.

For the price, the hostel was okay, and I made friends, which was fun. The location was really convenient for transport, the beach, and nearby areas. The street felt safe when I went for an evening walk. There were nice places to eat nearby, though I'd suggest walking a bit further toward the main roads for fairer prices. Lidl was about a 10-minute walk away. My favourite spot was the balcony. I got check-in instructions and a password, then collected my room keys. I was in a mixed room with two white sheets and a pillowcase. The room was generally okay, but the wifi was hit and miss. The bathroom was especially dirty. Our roommates were fairly strict about cleanliness, but the shower curtain was stained and disgusting. I asked the housekeeper and she said it was only cleaned on Saturday. I stayed four days and was annoyed to use the same sheets the whole time. The fridge was a mess of spills, which was probably down to guests, but there should be a way to keep it clean. Someone also stole my charging cable, which was frustrating and inconvenient. I'd call the stay convenient, but only a 5/10.

The staff were kind and understanding when I arrived later than planned, and I liked having a balcony off my room. The room was kept well, and the locker was large enough for my things. There was also a socket right next to the bed, which I haven't always found in other places. I stayed three nights. My main gripes were the cigarette smell on the blankets and a shower head that wouldn't stay attached to the wall. The balcony seemed to be shared with around 7-8 bunk beds.
