The Saint John Hotel

We stayed five nights and loved it. Breakfasts were fantastic, though they weren't buffet style. The room was clean and well equipped, but very dark because a thick double door separated it from the box balcony. There was plenty of artificial light. The historic sights and lots of restaurants are close by. A bit unusually, the desk and breakfast were at the nearby The Rossini.

Breakfast was really very good, so I'd recommend including it. Service was excellent too. Our room was a good size and spotlessly clean, with a roomy shower room and WC, enough hanging and drawer space, tea and coffee making facilities, and air conditioning. A delightful boutique hotel in a great central Valletta location.

The hotel is on a busy pedestrian street, but it was very quiet inside. Staff were welcoming and attentive, and we enjoyed the breakfast we had there. Our room was modern, clean and comfortable. Everything in central Valletta is within a ten-minute walk. We couldn't fault our stay and definitely recommend it.

There's no lobby at the hotel, and the AX Rosselli a couple of doors down handles the front desk. This review covers both places. The staff were fabulous. When we had to leave at 5am for an early flight, they offered to have the restaurant prepare a special meal before we left. Our spacious room was beautifully appointed, with a great shower and a balcony overlooking the street. The atrium was beautiful too. Though the hotel sits on a busy ancient street, the room was well soundproofed. AX Rosselli has two Michelin-starred restaurants and a rooftop lounge. The food was phenomenal and service impeccable. There's another Michelin-starred restaurant literally 10 metres across the street, and yet another a block away.
