Be Cosy Apart Hotel with LOV

The pool is lovely and works well for kids, and the staff at the swim-up bar were always friendly with fair prices. The rest of the property feels rough around the edges. Our room seemed like it hadn’t had a proper clean, and the paths are broken with lots of stairs, so it’s not pram-friendly. Reception was painfully slow, and finding it and the car park was confusing because there aren’t enough signs. There also need to be more sunloungers under parasols. A proper scrub of the rooms, clearer signs and repaired paths would make a big difference.

The beach is just steps away, the location is hard to beat, and private parking was very convenient. Our basic room was kept clean. The service, though, felt lazy. The paths made moving luggage difficult, and staff offered no help, so handling the bags was a real struggle. Housekeeping came only every two days, and fresh towels only every four, which wasn’t ideal. There’s also a €100 security deposit at check-in. You get it back at checkout if everything is intact, but paying it is still an annoying hurdle. Come for the beach and parking, but expect to manage things yourself and reuse towels for a while.

The staff were wonderful and the hotel is beautiful, but the accommodation is badly managed. Getting towels changed takes a lot of hassle, and they say that’s because it’s serviced apartments rather than a hotel. If so, there should at least be a washing machine so guests can clean their own towels. Our room also had an unpleasant sewage smell. When we raised it, we were told the system is old and needs maintenance. The food was acceptable. The owner seems negligent and hasn’t hired proper administrators. I’m grateful to the amazing staff, but as a guest I hope the owner sells to someone who deserves to run a guesthouse.

It’s a quiet hotel, with no loud music at night, and we’re already missing it. The rooms and showers are spacious and include a kitchen. Staff were friendly, and service at the pool bar was good, with no strict closing time. Right outside there’s a bus stop for Grand Baie, Pereybere, Mon Choisy and Port Louis, along with a restaurant, small shops and a pharmacy. The public beach is a two-minute walk away, with takeaway food and locals enjoying their music. It’s also a lovely place for sunset, and on a quick boat ride we saw a turtle.
