Bubble Lodge Ile aux Cerfs

We had a great last night in Mauritius before our late flight home, and staying on this beautiful island felt totally unique. The airport has the island on its billboards, so it was nice to know we'd stayed there. Once the day trippers leave, the beaches are almost to yourselves, apart from the other three lodges. Our bubble was clean and had everything we needed for a night. The showers are outside. Breakfast and dinner were both very good, and the breakfast selection was excellent, especially with only four bubbles on the island. Dinner is the only evening food option, so half board is needed. There are plenty of snack options at different beaches during the day. The hotel has its own jetty, and the local boat picks you up there every 20 minutes, so there's never a long wait. The last boat back from the island is at 5pm. A golf buggy gets you around the island. The beaches are stunning, and I'd recommend it for a short stay. If we went again, I'd book a lake or tidal bubble, which are much more private than the sea view bubble we had. Ours felt more overlooked. We booked our children into the banyan tree bubble, which they loved and which was more private, but it was a long way from us by golf buggy. For a larger family of five or more, I'd suggest a lake bubble with either the sea view bubble, which is relatively next door, or the tidal bubble, which is also next door to the lake. The tidal bubble isn't overlooked by the beach at all, though it might be by the golf course, I'm not sure. Both are almost as close to the beach as the sea view bubble.

Everything felt 10/10, from the safety and cleanliness to the beauty of the place, the reception, staff and food. Special thanks to chef Shubham for a super delicious dinner, and to waiter Avisheik. We wished we'd stayed longer than one night. It was a wonderful experience, and one we'd repeat. Many thanks.

We didn't enjoy it at all. It felt like an expensive tent with very little room and no way to open it. At night, the inflator and a motor in the background made it noisy. The golf setting felt strange, the food was so-so, and the whole atmosphere was odd.

We had a great time at the bubble lodge. The atmosphere was nice, the service excellent and the food good. We'd happily come back, and highly recommend the place.
