The host Martin was a gem. He spent hours teaching us to snorkel, and even with bad weather he did his best to make sure we enjoyed the trip. My 6-year-old son had the experience of a lifetime snorkeling confidently with Martin for the first time. The Maldivian dinner was the best we had, and we can’t wait to return for more adventures at Maalhos and to stay at his upcoming project. All the best! Maalhos really is paradise, with white sand, turquoise water, a serene beach, and a luxurious room right on the shore.

Martin / Marteen was incredibly helpful, and even lent us snorkeling gear. He arranged all our transportation and was always ready to help. When the local ferry was canceled, he took us to Dharavandhoo for a very low price. He also picked us up from Eydhafushi at short notice. We’ll definitely come back to visit.

Shariq kept us safe and comfortable in the water, snorkeling with us to point out the drop-off and the best places to enter and exit. There were plenty of reef fish and a turtle, and he took GoPro videos for us and sent them afterward. The food was varied and delicious, and the accommodation was clean, comfortable, and felt secure, with a small outdoor sitting area. Shariq was always available to help and arrange requests, including watching local ladies extract coconut oil from old coconuts. Martin replied to our booking enquiry, and Shariq, his manager, arranged our flights to and from Male very efficiently. Together they made sure we had a lovely stay on Malhos. The island is especially lovely if you’re there for the mantas at Hanufaru Bay. Shariq followed reports from the Rangers about sightings, helping us visit at the best time. We were lucky enough to snorkel with around thirty mantas all around and just below us. It was a magical experience we’ll remember forever. Thank you, Martin and Shariq.

We felt very welcome. The manager was friendly and helpful, picked us up from the resort, and showed us around Maalhos. He was always there when we needed him. The rooms were clean and a good size, and the guesthouse provided beach towels, shampoo, and shower gel. The restaurant is just around the corner and served very good food. One downside was the price for what you get. We felt it was a little expensive compared with other places on the island with the same comfort.
