Kaani Beach Hotel at Maafushi

The beach was right outside, and I had a direct sea view. Service throughout my stay was excellent. At breakfast, Mr. Anisur deserves a special mention. He greeted everyone with a warm smile and stayed in a good mood, and he made the best tea. He made each morning special. I’d happily come back!

Waking up to the ocean from my sea view room made this stay especially peaceful. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and everything from the location to the service felt perfect. The staff were friendly, helpful, and professional throughout. I had a fantastic stay at Kaani Beach Hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Maldives. I’d love to stay again.

We were looked after so well, and the room had a beautiful sea view with excellent room service. The breakfast buffet had lots of variety, and the location was fantastic, right by the beach and close to shops and excursion centers. It was my husband’s birthday, and the team decorated the bed and gave us a complimentary cake. I’d also bought a beach decoration package as a surprise for him, and it was breathtakingly beautiful. Kadir, Isha, Hasaan, Try, Abdul Kareem, and the other staff were amazing, with incredible service and hospitality. Highly recommend it!

The price was $150 per night, which felt nowhere near worth it given the conditions. The Booking.com photos set completely different expectations and were truly disappointing. They looked several years old and didn’t match the reality, including our room, which also differed from the booking photos. The beach beds were old and worn out, and the beach itself was overcrowded. The so-called ‘bikini beach’ is very small. From our room we looked out at construction debris, and building work all around the hotel caused noise. Kaani Beach feels more like an annex than a main hotel. It’s outdated!! Reality vs. Expectations. There were a few good points: the room was clean, the bed comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, and the shower was pleasant. The staff were very helpful, and breakfast was okay, though we missed fresh fruit. The pineapple came from a can.
