Shams Thoddoo

My family and I spent five days at Shams Thoddoo and had a great time. The room was clean, the food was something we loved, and the location was perfect. Service and hospitality were top notch. I'd highly recommend it.

The garden gives Shams Guest House such a cozy feel, with lovely flowers and plants the hostess grew herself. The hosts were warm and caring, welcoming us with open hearts and always ready to help, support us, or meet our needs. A special thanks for arranging the great 4 in 1 excursion with sharks and manta rays at a very reasonable price. It's newly built, so everything felt fresh and clean, with new furniture and appliances. The house is tucked away and peaceful among palm trees where flying foxes hang out, yet shops and everything we needed were just a short walk away on a lively street. We're so happy we stayed at Shams and felt at home, treated like family. See you soon, as you always wrote to us, Uvidimsya! 😊

We loved the little island tour, where we learned about local agriculture. It felt like a genuinely interesting and authentic experience. Fresh fruit was often shared with us too, such a treat. My girlfriend and I enjoyed every moment at Shams, with just the right mix of relaxing and discovering things. Sofy and Hassan, the lovely couple who run the place with so much heart, made us feel welcome and at home straight away. Our room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed, and the hosts were attentive to our needs. Thank you both, warm greetings to Sofy and Hassan. We think of you fondly and hope to return one day.

A special thank you to the team for the surprise they prepared for our 10th anniversary. The room decoration and cake at dinner were a lovely touch, and Mr. Nazim, Maken, and everyone else organized it so well. I'll choose this hotel again when I return to the Maldives. Shams Lagoon View Guest House is a modern, family-run boutique hotel in central Thoddoo Island, in a new five-level building. It's very clean and a good base for relaxing, sleeping, and getting to the beach, which is around 6-7 minutes on foot. One side has a lovely garden. Rooms are spacious, with fresh towels and bedding, and the large clean bathrooms have a kettle, hairdryer, and shampoo. There are no slippers, toothbrush, or cleaner. Everything felt worth the price. The staff, including the cleaning and kitchen teams, were friendly and helpful. Maken, the Kazakh staff member, was especially kind, positive, and ready to help. Breakfast was decent, with what you need plus fresh fruit and juices. The breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all good quality. I'd definitely stay here again when I return to Thoddoo Island.
