Thulusdhoo is a lovely, peaceful island, with friendly people, bright blue water, and coral reefs to explore. Our room at Kahanbu Guest House faced the ocean and was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. Being able to step straight onto the beach was such a treat, and waking up to the sea was lovely. Giulia and Chikaa welcomed us so warmly that we felt at home right away. Their daughter Jasmine is just as sweet and cheerful as her parents. One day, a friend and I joined a fishing trip on their boat. We caught some fish, and the staff cooked it for us the next day. It was delicious, and such a personal, fun experience.

We had a brilliant week with Giulia. There were dolphins, turtles, surfing, and delicious food, all with warm Italian-style hospitality. The excursions were a bonus too, including sandbanks, snorkeling, and trips to desert islands. A memorable stay, and highly recommended for more than just surfing.

We felt lucky to get a room here. Kahanbu has only four rooms, and the sunbeds are for guests, so the garden feels like your own little stretch of beach. The garden is the nicest of the guesthouses we saw on the island, and the place is clearly cared for. The owners and staff are wonderful, welcoming people, and we felt at home from the first day. The local people who run excursions through the guesthouse were fantastic too.

Breakfast and time spent in the garden were magic, and Giulia felt like an old friend by the end of day one. The beach is quiet and calm, with great snorkeling, and you can see Cokes from the garden sunbeds. The boat to Chickens is right nearby. It’s only 100 metres from the fake surfer scene, but Kahanbu feels like another world. We loved it.

We had an amazing time on this local island, and Giulia, Chika, and Raju were fantastic hosts. They made us feel welcome and relaxed throughout the trip. The food was amazing, and we got to enjoy activities like surfing and watching dolphins. A wholehearted recommendation. Thank you, team!
