Niva Kurumba Maldives Resort

The buffet and desserts were tastier than I expected, and I’d recommend trying the coconut milkshake at the bar. I was travelling alone and stayed for one night before continuing to Fuvahmulah the next day. The resort is right by the airport, and the speedboat ride takes just 5-10 minutes. The staff timed my departure well with the shared boat. I arrived around 11:00. My room wasn’t ready until 13:30, but I could use the shower rooms to freshen up while I waited. The room itself was amazing, with beautiful views, and the staff were very friendly. Oumaima looked after me when I arrived and again when I left the next day.

Being so close to the airport made this a handy resort for a short transit stay, though planes can sometimes be noisy nearby. The beach was lovely, with clear, beautiful water and plenty of privacy. I also really enjoyed the spa, especially the massage from Ladda, who did a fantastic job. The resort itself is beautiful, with thoughtful touches like an orchid garden.

There’s a lot to enjoy around the resort, from several pool locations, billiards, table tennis and tennis to the gym, water sports and delicious food. The staff were warm and hospitable throughout. Special thanks to Ava the photographer and Amani the waitress from Cafe. Oumaima at reception made a big difference from the moment we arrived. Her smile, kindness and upbeat energy made us feel welcome, and whenever we saw her around the resort she greeted us warmly and offered lovely compliments. Her attention felt completely sincere. She and her team also helped arrange our activities, with recommendations suited to our interests, and made sure everything ran smoothly and without stress. We made the most of our time thanks to her help. The ladies mentioned are a real asset to Kurumba Maldives. Their care, professionalism and warmth made the stay memorable, and we’re grateful for all their attention. We hope to see them again on our next visit.

The peaceful setting and breathtaking clear water made it easy to unwind, and dining at the Indian restaurant was a highlight. The service there was excellent, and I still remember the lamb biryani, full of flavour and cooked just right. From arrival, the staff made us feel welcome. Everyone we met was cheerful and attentive, and housekeeping kept our room fresh, spotless and beautifully presented every day. It was a special getaway we’ll remember fondly.
