Hotel Yamba

It's really cheap compared with hotels in the same area, though getting there is difficult, especially at night haha. Their pickup and drop-off service is very limited and ends early, at 5 p.m. For somewhere that's not even that far away, they'll quote one price and end up charging double. I personally liked the place a lot. The rooms feel private and are like mini-apartments, with a fridge, stove, TV (the remote doesn't work), and internet that's a bit slow. There's a pretty good view, the cleaning is fine, and the rooms have a balcony with a chair and a nice view. They give you plenty of freedom. The double beds are comfortable, but the single beds are very basic. The blankets are about 70% clean. They provide shampoo, soap, and conditioner. Everything in the bathroom worked except our toilet had no water, so we had to pour water into it with a bucket. The pool has a nice atmosphere, though it's not regulated and is just so-so, neither clean nor dirty. Still, the place itself is really good. There's no reception service, so if you're staying at the top, going up and down for small things gets tiring. On a short stay of 1-2 nights, they don't fix problems like a bathroom with no water, and they don't report them either, though they do seem somewhat concerned. The air conditioner is a bit old and takes a long time to cool, an hour or more before it starts. It also needs to be set a certain way before you can feel it cooling. Nights are hot, so this could be improved. The reception staff are always available, so there's no waiting. They respond pretty quickly on WhatsApp and make reservations fast.

There’s a really nice view from this roomy suite. Getting up the hill can be rough if you don’t have a car, though. The grill doesn’t work, there’s no hot water in the bathroom, and the pool was a little dirty.

The big, warm pool and good service were nice, and the hotel itself looks very pretty. The location is the problem: it’s way up a steep hill, and you have to park your car on that slope. I’d even put a stone against the tire because I was worried it might roll. Parking there takes some skill, and walking up would be exhausting, so a free day to walk to the beach would be nearly impossible. I never saw tour groups staying there, which I assume is for the same reason. There’s no hot water, but that didn’t bother us since the weather was cool. Such a shame about the location.

The rooms are clean and roomy, with kitchens, and the price is affordable. The staff were warm and attentive, too. I accidentally left my hairdryer behind and they let me know right away.
