The drinks were always good, and the bar guy was upbeat. I also liked the view from the hallway by the rooms. The pool should be bigger and deeper: it gets so crowded there's hardly room to swim, and the second-floor pool is very shallow. It would make sense to have separate deep and shallow pools. The rooms looked more like motel rooms than what I'd expect at an all-inclusive. Food was just okay, with limited choices, though breakfast was my favorite. I heard the beach club had waterslides and pools because the website said so, but there weren't any when I went. The shuttle bus to the club was old and shook a lot. Toilets were difficult to flush, like school toilets, and I found hair on my plates. The cups smelled because they weren't dried properly.

The way you have to book a room is a headache. We couldn't pay through Expedia or the hotel's website, so a family member had to deposit money into one of their bank accounts in Mexico. That should have been a red flag. At check-in, the receptionist couldn't find our second room, and we argued back and forth for about an hour, even though I had emails and receipts showing our deposits. The manager finally came and "found" the reservation. The rooms were okay, but there was no mini fridge and the beds were quite hard. The all-inclusive buffet food was basic and flavorless: dry chilaquiles, burnt pancakes, plain oatmeal, and no seafood during our four days. The beach they took us to had filthy water and very strong waves, so my little boys, ages 6 and 2, couldn't swim in it. Staff service wasn't good either. They didn't really offer beverage choices unless you asked or guessed what they had, and Tecate was the only beer. The pool had no kid-friendly area. We've had an amazing all-inclusive experience in D.R., so this one was a letdown. Nothing exciting about this hotel. Never again, Acapulco.

This place has lost a lot of its credibility since its prime. Some memories are best left as memories, and I can't blame them. Acapulco is one of Mexico's top-rated crime cities, and that has taken a toll on a lot of places here.

The grounds are nice, the staff are great, and the beds and rooms are comfortable. The food is mediocre, but it's good value for the money. We'd return.
