Hampton Inn by Hilton Monterrey-Airport

I keep coming back whenever I travel to Monterrey because the service is so dependable. Everyone is friendly, attentive, and ready to help. The rooms are spotless and comfortable, with a thoughtful layout that makes it easy to unwind after a long day. Breakfast is included, and it’s fresh and delicious each morning. I really couldn’t ask for a better place to stay here.

The room was cleaned well, and there’s a restaurant next door within walking distance. They also have a free airport shuttle and a happy hour with complimentary drinks and snacks. The staff helped arrange transportation, thanks especially to Christine. Getting to watch the CLE cavs in the lobby lounge was a nice bonus.

It was a convenient place to stay before my early flight, and the shuttle was a real plus. I had a great experience here. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. There’s a good range of delicious food at the hotel restaurant. I’d recommend it to others.

Feb. 2026... I was here for a 13-hour layover, and the hotel is in a handy spot for walking to restaurants and entertainment. Chili's is right next door, with other places to eat nearby. The building is different from the one at this location during my recent stay. I also want to say I appreciated the working manager, Mr. Isei Garza, who came to introduce himself and apologize after what happened on my first stay. I got into the public elevator on the 4th floor to go down to breakfast. After I pressed 1 and waved my keycard, the elevator stopped abruptly. I was alone in a very warm, confined space and started to panic, worried no one would know I was stuck. My phone was in my other hand, but I was waiting for the hotel prompts to connect me to the front desk. It took me a while to focus and find an unmarked compartment. Thankfully, it was an emergency phone, and someone answered right away. They spoke some English, which was a relief. I was trapped for around 15 minutes, banging on the door before I heard a faint voice and then some noise outside. I felt better knowing I wasn't between floors. Someone tried to pry the doors open a couple of times, and eventually got them open. I was only about a foot from the 4th floor. A familiar face helped me out, and we headed to breakfast. Mr. Isei Garza offered medical attention and anything else I needed. I declined the medical help because it wasn't necessary, and thanked him for his concern and kindness. I asked if someone could help with my bags since I would now only use the stairs, and he graciously agreed and insisted. But when it was time to go down to the shuttle, nobody came, which was a very unpleasant surprise. At least the offer was made, but no one followed through. I took the stairs and got my exercise for the day. On my second stay that same week, after we had been away in SBP (San Luis Obispo, CA) for just a day, I had a 17.5-hour layover in MTY. This was a different problem. I was assigned another 4th-floor room, so I asked to move to a lower floor. Even the 2nd floor would have been fine, since I wanted to avoid the elevator. What was supposed to take 20 minutes took an hour and 15 minutes. I went to the new room and it felt like an oven. The AC was set to 61°F, but it only blew hot air. Someone came up after me to ask me to sign the room paper, so I politely refused because I wasn't going to stay in a very warm room with AC that didn't work. A maintenance guy confirmed it was broken. After another 5-10 minutes, I finally got a room.
