Casa Sofía

We stayed almost a week. The place was really clean and in a decent area, and the included breakfast was so good. The chef was very nice, too. It was quiet at night and felt very secure, with a guard on duty, so we felt safe.

The location near the center is a strong point, and I thought the prices were OK. Security was very good in the rooms, with the security staff, and among the cleaning staff. The service was friendly and steady, though at times a little too direct. I felt scolded for not telling guests about breakfast. If it's included in the room rate, it should be served during the hours they give you. When I missed breakfast time, the cook seemed unfriendly. I got the impression he wasn't in the kitchen and had to come back, which I suppose he didn't like. The cleaning could be better, especially making the beds and vacuuming the carpet, which wasn't always done properly. Staff should also keep their hallway conversations quieter, since their loud voices and laughter woke guests. Some rooms were being maintained or remodeled, and the noise was annoying. They left trash in the yard, too, and no one told me as a guest that this work would be going on. The ramp from the sidewalk into the parking lot should be less steep, since small cars scrape their bumpers going down. There should also be clearer signs, and taxis or private cars shouldn't park in front of the entrances and block the view.

We stay here when we go to the San Felipe fair because we know we can count on it. Our room was cute and very clean, and even though we arrived after midnight, staff were there to welcome us. Breakfast was delicious, and everyone was friendly and attentive.
